A major five-day Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development will be carried out in Rio de Janeiro, 10-15 June 2012 *. The Forum is organized by the International Council for Science (ICSU) and UNESCO, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), the International Social Science Council (ISSC), the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. The Forum will provide a platform for the science, technology and innovation community to highlight key messages within the Rio+20 context, and to enter into dialogue with policy-makers and other stakeholders. SSEESS is planning a side event (1-2 hours) to complement and add value to the Forum agenda. The side event will tentatively be titled: GEC research, The Swedish Model. We will describe good practice examples of Swedish research that relate to current global environmental change issues (e.g. research which has had a policy influence, research collaboration with developing countries and other international collaboration, collaboration among Swedish institutions and with industries, new institutions for science- policy communication such as SSEESS, etc). Therefore we firstly need to know if you are participating in the Rio+20 conference and/or if you have the possibility to actively participate in our side event in the Science Forum. Please contact: neda.farahba@sseess.kva.se or dan.wilhelmsson@sseess.kva.se
