February 6, 2015 Call: grant opportunities for research on energy systems

The Swedish Energy Agency has announced its programme “Strategic Energy Research” which financially supports research on energy systems with a focus on how different stakeholders, discount institutions and other parts within the system interact with each other.

Deadline for applications: 18 March 2015

Targeted research areas

Applications from all disciplines are welcome, sickness including social sciences and humanities, case to increase the knowledge of how the Swedish energy and climate policy function and how they should be designed in the future. Moreover, comparative studies, both between countries and sectors, are welcome as well as studies with a perspective on gender and generations, democracy and ethical issues.

You should specify in your application which focus area applies to your project. The call has the following three focus areas:

  1. GeneralEnergy Systems – research on how a sustainable energy system looks and can be achieved
  2. Policy instruments – research on different instruments designed to shift the current system towards a sustainable energy system at EU,national and regional level
  3. International climate policy – research which contributes to an improved basis for ongoing international discussions focusing on negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
